The volume that appears today is devoted to Florence and its immediate surroundings, a subject as inexhaustible as it is varied. Experience has allowed me to recognize how much time and fatigue would be avoided if, instead of wandering on an adventure, we could proceed methodically and embrace in a single visit all that, in the same radius, is worthy of note.
