Flappers and Philosophers

F. Scott Fitzgerald followed up his smash hit debut novel This Side of Paradise with this 1920 collection of short stories, Flappers and Philosophers, that contains many signature pieces like Bernice Bobs Her Hair, The Ice Palace, and The Cut Glass Bowl. Though most of his novels faded quickly within his Fitzgerald's lifetime, his stories are what made him super famous. So if all you know is the GG, then take a few hours for these eight gems of the Jazz age.

Many of these tales feature young women coming of age around the turn of the 19th century:19 year old girls in New England towns, Ivy League schools, and country clubs who move to the big city, surrounded by liquor and Jazz, fox trots and flappers.
